White bumps around tattoo

2 messages · last activity 8/11/2014

I just got my 5th tattoo finished on Monday night. The tattoo itself took 6 sessions, this last one was 2 hours long, and on my wrist (lower half sleeve). Everything went fine, got home waited the normal 4 hours til I took the wrapping off, washed it, and applied the Vaseline my artist provided. When I woke up on Tuesday, I noticed a small white bump on the end of my wrist. Washed my tattoo, reapplied the Vaseline, and it was still there. So I left it alone. Later that I day, i looked back at it, and it spread. I have left it alone until today. There are 12 noticeable ones, and quite a few smaller ones along the outline of the tattoo. My tattoo's swelling has gone down, the red is only around the white bumbs now. Still a little sore. I want to say they look like whiteheads, but I'm not sure. They look puss filled, and it kind of smells like a sweaty watch. Is this an infection? or is this normal. The rest of my artwork went by perfectly normal.
